Hello

Station Makes was created in 2023 in the dead of the night while the baby was sleeping. In 3 years, the business has grown exponentially and has been a part of markets from New Mexico to Indiana. Products have been featured in two boutique stores, Wild at Art and Mi Casita, and in 2025 Station Makes had a store of their own at The Block in Rio Rancho for the holidays. My Story

My name is Stasha. I'm a jack of all trades, master of none. But as the saying goes, "A jack of all trades is a master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one". I love crafts of all kinds, and I can thank my mom for that. For as long as I can remember I've been crafting with my family. From crochet to woodworking, painting to sewing, screenprinting to beading. Sometimes it feels like I've tried all of the hobbies. I first started creating with polymer clay in 2015. It was fun, but it didn't stick. Four years later one of my very best friends gave me part of her crafting stash. She said "you're crafty, you can do something with this." And boy did I. With her supplies I sculpted my first snowman ornament, a cherry blossom slab, and my first collection of clay earrings. I still have most of them. Mostly because they were awful, something that truly only their creator would love. But that's where it all began. I was a new mom who was both exhausted but also needing a creative outlet. Polymer clay finally stuck. Working with clay has helped me through the most stressful of times. I've developed skills, created community, built friendships, and the products I've made with my very hands have made others feel beautiful. My baby, who was only months old when I began, is quickly growing into a young person with her own personality and creative streak, and she creates right along with me; a tradition that I can proudly say runs in my family from generation to generation.

FAQ

Why is your business name "Station Makes"?

When I met my first foster daughter she was 5 years old. I introduced myself to her and when I said "My name is Stasha" she heard "My name is Station". And since I make so many different things, it only made sense. It is also a dream of mine to have a brick and mortar store that includes a makerspace in the back, which would be fittingly called the "Maker Station".

How long have you been making jewelry?

I started making jewelry from beads as a teenager. In my 20s I made earrings and bracelets out of upcycled materials such as upholstery fabric and wallpaper samples. I'm now in my 30s and I utilize many materials/techniques in my jewelry such as beads, wire wrapping, clay, and sometimes resin.

Where do you get your cutters?

I make them.

How do I take care of my jewelry?

  • Treat your clay jewelry with the same delicacy you would treat all jewelry.

  • Don't bend the clay. While it is flexible, it does have a breaking point when bent too far.

  • Keep the clay away from aerosols, alcohol, and acetone. These chemicals will break down the properties of the clay.

  • Keep the clay away from intense temperatures. If kept near heat, such as a curling iron or in a vehicle in the summer, the clay can burn or become malformed.

  • Keep the jewelry out of moist environments. It is safe for the clay to be wet, however the metal components may tarnish.

Do you take custom orders or requests?

Yes. Contact me via email and we'll see what we can do. I can create custom cutters as well.
